Nowadays, everyone is a "photographer" with our ever increasing accessibility to cameras at our fingertips. However, when choosing a headshot photographer, it is imperative to keep in mind that a "headshot" should be a portrait that really captures and sells who YOU are.

As an actor and model myself, I know how hard it is to find great portraits that truly capture the essence of "you," without having to spend a fortune. I've been shooting portrait photography since 2009 once I realized how fascinating the human face is. It is capable of revealing so much about who we are. There are 42+ muscles in our faces alone - if any of those muscles are being forced in any way, i.e. whenever we are told to "smile," our faces generally look posed and unnatural. My sessions are built on the consideration that I want your portraits to reveal genuine emotion and feeling. During our session, I will work hard to make you feel comfortable and at ease so that your portraits convey a natural and approachable look, so be prepared to be your silly and quirky lil self with me!

Thanks for visiting my site, and I look forward to meeting you soon!

The Shoot

I shoot digital in natural light and I will typically shoot 3-4 looks for about 2+ hours, not including hair and makeup application time. However, I'm not staring at the clock during your session because I never want you to feel rushed or anxious. I only ever book 1-2 shoots a day for this reason as well, and also due to the availability of natural light. I currently shoot in Koreatown in an awesome penthouse with 360º views of DTLA, but if you have specific location(s) you'd like to shoot, message me, and I'd be happy to look into shooting on location. This is collaborative effort here, so please speak up if there are specifics you'd like to request. I'm only happy with your shots if you are!

Shoot Preparation

Headshots are an investment for your future and often serve as a first impression, so be prepared to look your best. You should look and feel how you would when walking into a casting office or audition. Please arrive to your shoot with clean and lightly moisturized skin, and unchapped lips. I don't require consultations, but I am more than happy to chat with you about any questions you may have before you book with me. I want to make sure I am a good fit for your portrait needs.

Hair, Makeup & Wardrobe

A "look" constitutes a wardrobe change and/or different hairstyles and/or facial hair vs. less/no facial hair, etc.  I highly recommend booking a hairstylist and/or makeup artist, but I don't require it. If you do choose to do your own hair and/or makeup, please arrive to your shoot camera ready. I am currently working with a couple of hair and makeup people and their prices vary, so please message me for scheduling and pricing. As far as wardrobe is concerned, please message me for recommendations based on your unique look.
